Adult Acting Classes [ 17 yrs+ ]

Being a dedicated actor is like being a dedicated athlete. Training is the key to success! These weekly classes provide the opportunity for students to consistently develop their craft. At the beginning of the course you will be given a selection of scripts and will be required to learn one scene per week. In each class tutors will assist you in developing compelling, realistic performance. You will be introduced to methods of scene study inspired by the works of the great Stanislavski and Stella Adler. In every lesson you will be given the chance to workshop the scene that you have prepared and record your performance on camera. Fast pace improvisation activities will be employed as an exciting method of further developing your acting technique, while encouraging you to be brave and take risks in your performances.

The MG class:

The class is divided into two one hour sections. The first hour is improvisation based. In this half of the class you can expect to let go of your inebitions and break out of your shell. This hour allows you to leave the rest of your crazy week behind you and focus soley on the here and now while introducing you to elements of method acting. In the second hour it’s time to step onto the film set, and perform a scene in front of the camera. This session is all about learning through workshoping and exploring a scene. You will discover how to break down and analyse a script, develop your audition technique and learn little tricks of the trade that will help you as you enter the industry. All of your work can be captured onto USB so that you can fast track your learning by watching your performance back on TV. From comedy to drama, action to si-fi, each week will bring a different script and acting challenge.
